Tunbridge W Foeseters Spartak 5 v Glebe Lions 1
Man of the Match: George worked the hardest in bad weather conditions
Glebe Scorer: George
Todays game saw us away to Tunbridge Spartak, a strong team who I hoped we would do quite well against, but with the gale force winds I could sense problems ahead.
With the strong wind blowing in our face the game kicked off. All week we had focused on passing and movement off the ball, we tried to keep the ball down and we played some great stuff in the first half, even though we were down 3-0 as we seemed to suffer more from the torrential rain and wind.
HT 3-0 down
Half time team talk put on every bit of warm clothing you have and a
straight change round.
Second half began and take it from me both teams found it very hard to concentrate on the game of football, with the wind and rain getting harder, they both showed lots of determination to go and score 3 goals between them, with the final whistle blowing you could see the relief all round. No time for a team talk we headed for our cars and stripped off to try and dry out.
FT Lost 5-1
Well done boys I did feel for you in the very bad weather but it's all character building and showed that all of us can get through it together.
Thanks Darren and his boys for the game, hope the next time we play, the sun is out.
Also due to me being slightly late cheers Steve for warming up the boys.
Keep up the good work see you at training.

Langley Hawks 2 v Glebe Lions 1
Man of the Match : Ben... worked the hard to again possession
Mention for Billy : Focused the whole game.
Glebe scorer : Joel
After a few nights of gale force winds and rain, I expected this game
to be off. But was happy to find out we were able to play as the wind had dropped and the sun was shining.
Arrived early only to find we were playing on a very, inadequate quality size pitch, for a 7 aside game. Never a one to moan we got on with it.
With a good chat and warm up, I hoped the boys were up for it today as we had nothing to fear against the team that was top.
Game kicked off and right from the beginning, I felt that the team seemed lethargic in their attitude and we were just giving the ball away, and making things very difficult for ourselves, and to a team who I thought we had a great chance against, with my constant prompting I hoped it would help, again we let slip a goal, making it to easy and putting ourselves under pressure.
HT 1-0 down.
Confidence low, I told the boys to keep things simple and try and play our game.
Second half we tried to play but found our passing wasn't great as there was no room for errors. When finally a through pass from the back to our striker got us a great goal, 1-1.
With little time left, we was forced back into our half, and I hope we would hold out for a draw until the final corner of the game saw the Hawks get a header from the back post by an unmarked player, 2-1.
FT Lost 2-1.
Not a great performance today, as I've seem you all play better, made it to easy for our opponents to dominate us. Mustn't forget we are a new team and are all coming along and a great bunch to manage, remember boys
Rome wasn't built in a day..... if you don't understand ask a parent....
See you at training.

Glebe Lions 1 v Tunbridge Wells Forester Mustangs 2
Man of the Match :
Shaun... good performance, some great runs going forward.
Glebe Scorer : Louie
Today saw us home to Tunbridge Foresters Mustangs in the League Cup, and a team we had already played before, but had lost to in a very tight game.
Boys have been training well and I hoped for another good performance.
Game kicked off, with both teams having even possession in early stages, we had a good chance of a result, but soon after I felt and with some help from us being to sloppy defending in front of our own goal, the Mustangs edge the first half, as they were 2-0 up.
HT 2-0 down.
Half time talk if we don't work hard enough for each other, and keep switched on we will never compete against these so called better teams.
Second half saw a totally different performance getting back into the game with a great worked goal within the first ten minutes 2-1. With big efforts all round, we went at the Mustangs hoping to get another, unfortunately wasn't to be.
FT lost 2-1
Unlucky again today, with a spirited second half and competitive to the end we may have got a different result, if we can concentrate a bit more over the two halves and with a little bit of luck our way, we can change our results.
Well done Paul and your Mustangs another great game, good luck in the next round.
Come on the Glebe..

Whyteleafe fc 1 v Glebe Lions 1
The Whole Team ... This is the standard you have to keep to
Glebe Scorer : George
After last weeks result that sat us bottom, I didn't really fancy facing our opponents today as they were sitting top of our A league. With a few nerves ( more me ) we went through our warm up and I told them all to concentrate on what we had worked so hard on in training. With a few rotations of players. We won the toss and kicked off. For us it began a bit nervously as Whyteleafe pressured us well, right from the off. We competed for every ball and shortly after, the boys grew in confidence and caused them problems with our quick flowing football. After we had missed various missed chances we popped in a great goal, and went ahead 1-0.
HT 1-0
Team talk, interesting as we watched the other team, not very happy. I explained how they hadn't expected us to have coped with their pressure and then go a goal up. Same amount of effort needed.
Whyteleafe came out fighting and with a lot of effort, and as I asked form the boys we kept them at bay, again caught them on the break, where a dead cert penalty should have been given. Unfortunately not !
The opposition kept probing and we kept missing our chances, when something had to give, 1-1 a shot crept through a crowded box. With a final shot on goal from us which didn't fly in, the final whistle blew.
FT 1-1
So so proud of you boys this week and so were your parents, you have shown us, that this team can take on the big boys and with that effort your growing as a team, and moving forward. First points on the board, VERY WELL DONE..
Cheers to Darren ,Whyteleafe manager for your comments on another great game between us, sorry for knocking you off top spot.
Up the Glebe.....

Glebe Lions 1 v Glebe Tigers 3
Man of the Match : George.. positive runs until injured
: Harry .. working hard in his new position
Glebe Scorer : Benjamin
Today saw us up against our Tigers, with both teams looking for their first win. With a good performance from the boys last week, I expected nothing less this week. We all new this was going to be one of our hardest games of the season, as the fixture itself always gives it an in house edge of excitement, and we would all have to be at our best.
The Tigers kicked off having some good possession, but slowly we got into our game, winning the ball well and some great movement we constantly pressured them into their half.
Both teams fought well and as a spectator it must have been exciting, as for the managers we were going more grey along the touch line, with a long ball for our keeper and some great passing we caught the Tigers off guard and scored a great goal poking it passed their keeper and going into half time 1-0 up.
As last week we had gone in 1-0 up, I told the boys, to win this game, we would have to be as good as we were in the first half. Making one change due to an injury we kicked off. The game began as it had finished both teams were determined to prove who was the better team.
I felt we were edging the game with more possession, when we had a controversial goal given against us, our boys said it hadn't crossed the line but the Tigers boys said it had.Goal 1-1
We kicked back off and kept up the pressure, the game was end to end when again the Tigers scored a great goal hitting the underside of the bar and in. Goal 2-1 (down)
I felt the goal knocked some wind out of our boys, and with little time left, I changed formation and went for the draw. Time running out and again missing our chances we got caught on the break and went down 3-1 to a good goal, rounded the keeper and in.
FT lost 3-1
Well as last week boys, I will say it again, you are improving all the time and even better performance than last week. More effort from you all and a I can see a great bond forming between you all and with a never give up attitude. Outstanding.
Well done Scott and to the Tigers you fought well and got the first Glebe win. Hope to win them points back next time. What a great example for Glebe as this game had everything, parents could not want more out for their boys. Good competitiveness throughout and battled till the end, and all shared in a joint managers team talk and sweets at the end.
