Under 16 Lions Andy Cowell 07793 026622 (M)
MATCH REPORTSIt was a bright sunny morning - unusual for the end of September and I was glad I wore shorts....Jack Bolt was away this weekend and Jack Cowell stepped up to the mark to put on the keepers shirt again and did us proud. We was off to a flying score with Niyaz scoring the opener within the first 8 minutes leaving the keeper at full stretch. At this point Wickham Wanderers decided to step up their pace to which the Keen brothers' did their usual full on attack against the opposition. The pitch was very bobbly which made passing very difficult for both teams. However, our defence was slightly slow to react on a break whilst Wickham Wanderers forwards as they equalised 2 minutes from the end of the first half. Just one of those things - think they caught us napping!!!Second half started with more vigour,(Andy,s half time talk must have worked!) plenty of shots,but just off target with whole team playing like a well oiled machine(good to hear Ernie was in good voice,as usual!)we managed to get through their defence to take the lead with a sweet shot from Kaiyo.Minutes from final whistle,a chance shot from Wickham Wanderers was expertly defended by Jack to leave the final score 2-1 to Glebe.Good game had by all,well done boys!!Gary Bolt
